I Want to Apply!

If you are interested in earning a degree in architecture, art, or design, be sure to select a major in the College of Architecture or College of Art on your admissions application. The primary considerations for undergraduate admission are your artistic and intellectual promise and your academic record. You must have graduated from high school, received a recommendation from your teachers or other responsible officials of the school, and taken an appropriate distribution of high school subjects.

1. Build Your Portfolio

Your portfolio is an important part of your application! A portfolio submission of 10-20 works is required for College of Art applicants and recommended for College of Architecture applicants. It is also required for any student to be considered for a scholarship.

2. Submit Your Application

Follow the instructions on WashU’s How to Apply page to submit your application.

3. Review Financial Aid & Scholarship Options

The Sam Fox School offers need-based financial aid and Art- and Architecture-specific scholarships every year. Let us walk you through the scholarship options.

Non-degree-seeking students interested in taking undergraduate-level courses should email the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at admissions@wustl.edu

Assembling a portfolio can be challenging—we can help!

One of the best things you can do to build a top-tier portfolio is to attend a National Portfolio Day event or schedule a one-on-one portfolio review through the school. You’ll get great feedback from our faculty, learn how best to improve your portfolio, and we’ll get to know you and your work! See where we’ll be coming that’s near you:
