Wallace Herndon Smith Distinguished Visiting Faculty Lecture: Jason Ross
A Jason Ross is the founder and creative director of Artemas Quibble, a men’s and women’s accessories brand and design atelier launched in 2012. While selling to luxury boutiques around the country, he also designed, prototyped, and manufactured belts and jewelry for Donna Karan Collection for eighteen seasons. Ross has also developed work for Rick Owens, Calvin Klein, Helmut Lang, Tory Burch, Faith Connexion, St John Knits and Jonathan Simkhai.
Ross’s collaboration with the legendary stylist George Cortina, led to his belts being included in the 2017 launch of Peter Dundas’ eponymous line and original belt development for four GQ cover stories featuring Keanu Reeves, Brad Pitt, Daniel Craig and Steven Yeun. Swea Lee wore one of Ross’ belts at the I HEART Radio Awards in 2020. His work has appeared in the pages of WSJ Magazine, W, V Magazine, Porter magazine, NY Times Magazine, and many other leading publications.
Ross himself was featured in the Iconic CK ONE campaign shot by Steven Meisel and can be seen in Calvin Klein’s retrospective published by Rizzoli. He was also featured in editorials in Vogue Homme, Details, I-D Magazine, British GQ, Paper and many others and appeared in Terry Richardson’s first campaign for Catherine Hamnett. Other photographers he’s shot with include Albert Watson, Nitin Vadukul, Max Vadkul and Arthur Elgort .
Ross has guest lectured at Parsons and FIT, and recently was chosen as the first guest for the launch of a weekly online ‘Happy Hour’ meeting at the Rockwell Group that taps designers outside of architecture for inspiration. His work has been included in London Craftweek’s online Create Day and was included in Sass Brown’s book on EcoFashion, REFASHIONED.
