Ruth & Norman Moore Visiting Professors of Architecture Lecture: Anna & Eugeni Bach
Anna and Eugeni Bach, the spring 2023 Ruth & Norman Moore Visiting Professors of Architecture, are founders of Anna & Eugeni Bach is an award-winning architecture studio based in Barcelona that operates across a broad spectrum of design, from urban planning and architecture to interior and object design. Their work is based on four branches: professional, teaching, research and cultural activity. Through innovation and research, the studio aims to find new solutions and alternatives for each project by optimizing both natural and economic resources, working as a team with the end user to ensure the best synthesis of concept, functionality and beauty.
Anna Bach holds an architecture degree from the Helsinki University of Technology and a master’s degree from the School of Architecture of Barcelona. She is currently teacher and coordinator of the Final Degree Project of the Interior Design Mention at EINA University Center for Design and Art of Barcelona and of the Interior Design of Commercial Spaces option.
Eugeni Bach is professor of projects at the Higher Technical School of Barcelona, Polytechnic University of Catalonia. He earned an architecture degree at the Superior Technical School of Architecture of Barcelona, UPC. Previous appointments include: assistant professor at the Vertical Workshop at ESARQ UIC, Barcelona, directed by Winy Maas and Duncan Lewis; professor of the Mies van der Rohe Chair, ETSAB UPC, under the direction of David Chipperfield; and professor of projects at the La Salle School of Architecture, Ramon Llull University, Barcelona.
Their projects have been published in various European magazines such as Domus, MARK Magazine, Interni, Arquitectura Viva or A10, among others, and their work has been exhibited at the Lisbon Architecture Triennial 2019-2020, in the Spanish Pavilion of the Lisbon Biennial.
