About the artist
Bill Kohn studied at Washington University in St. Louis, where he received a BFA in 1953. Subsequently, he studied in Paris with Stanley William Hayter at Atelier 17. In 1960, he completed his MA at Mills College in Oakland, California. He began teaching art at Washington University in St. Louis in 1963. Kohn, now a Professor Emeritus, held this position for 33 years, until his retirement in 1996. He continues to live and produce art in St. Louis.
His work is held in numerous collections including the Springfield Art Museum in Missouri and the St. Louis Art Museum. Kohn’s long list of awards includes a 1965 Fulbright Hays Grant to India. Bill Kohn died in 2004
