About the artist
Ivo Petkov, the son of Bulgarian scientists, came to the United States in 1987 to work at Island Press. He had already established a name for himself in Bulgaria. After completing his project at Island Press, Petkov elected to stay in the United States. He moved to the Los Angeles area in 1988.
Petkov and printer Kevin Garber drew each other in a collaborative portrait of the artist and master printer in the intalgio “Untitled”.
