Artist Research Fellowship
The Island Press Artist Research Fellowship is a biennial residency open to artists who are in any stage of their career, who are under-recognized, and whose voices reveal significant potential. Paramount to the review of each proposal is an assessment of the quality of the artistic work. Island Press welcomes the opportunity to support projects that embody diverse perspectives.

ABOUT THE FELLOWSHIP:
Candidates for the Island Press Artist Research Fellowship are asked to submit project proposals for a one-week residency at Island Press to conduct practice-based research in print media and/or multiples. The fellowship results in artifacts that stem from the artist’s proposal including, but not limited to, the creation and editioning of fine art prints, with the expectation that ideas and projects evolve through experimentation and making during the residency. The Island Press master printer, along with a small team of assistants, facilitate the project and collaborate with the artist on the project. We seek projects that are both innovative and feasible. Printmaking experience is not required.
Fellows receive lodging for the residency period and half of the print edition(s)/project. All material expenses for the project are covered. Transportation and meals are the responsibility of the artist/fellow.
