Graduate Students awarded travel stipends

Eight graduate students in the Sam Fox School were awarded travel stipends to further their studies and creative practices this winter.
In architecture, Annamarie Olsen attended a woodworking workshop in Philadelphia and Riley Parker researched localized transportation solutions for extreme topography in Pittsburgh.
In the MFA in Visual Art program, Yixiao Zhang explored Mexico’s historical cultural heritage in the Yucatan peninsula, gathering materials and preparing content for thesis work. Alina Senchenko attended exhibitions and met with curators of the Ukranian Museum in New York. Cecelia Grant and Brittni Mosby will attend the College Art Association conference in Chicago later this month.
In the MFA in Illustration & Visual Culture program, Sejal Popat conducted visual fieldwork in Pune, India, with a focus on dilapidated wada, a traditional style of mansion. Joy Ingram plans to conduct research at the Strong Museum of Play in Rochester, N.Y., this March.
