Weiss honored with New York Woman of Achievement Award

Professor Monika Weiss was named the 2026 Woman of Achievement by the New York State Assembly. The award honors Weiss’s contributions to the cultural landscape by creating art that challenges, heals, and connects, particularly through her work at the Dag Hammarskjöld Plaza in Manhattan, including “Nirbhaya,” a memorial devoted to forgotten victims of gender-based violence. Weiss leads the Sam Fox School’s time-based media art area and splits her time between St. Louis and New York.
