The Sam Fox School awarded five faculty its 2019-20 Creative Activity Research Grants, which encourage the pursuit of innovative new projects or the advancement of ongoing creative activity and research.
The following recipients were chosen by a jury of tenured and tenure-track faculty:
Assistant professor Petra Kempf, to support her research re-ali(g)ning the grid using printmaking techniques.
Associate professor Derek Hoeferlin, to support the completion of his book project Way Beyond Bigness.
Assistant professor Meghan Kirkwood, to support her research around the Dakota Access Pipeline in South Dakota, Iowa, and Illinois.
Assistant professor Constance Vale, to support the exhibition component of the symposium Decoys & Depictions: Images of the Digital.
Assistant professor Kelley Van Dyck Murphy, to support her research Tectonic Studies in Clay Bodies
