Carmen Ribaudo
My work portrays people caught in moments of time, jumping through one another, then folding into spaces that are familiar and strange. Interested in narrative work, I explore many ways of talking with pictures, including painting, large-scale collage, experimental animation, and comics. I was formerly a member at the collectively run library and publishing studio, Queer.Archive.Work in Providence, RI, a resident artist at Ellis-Beauregard in Rockland, Maine, and a Creative Fellow at the Providence Public Library. I worked as Program Coordinator for Counterpublic 2023, a triennial in St. Louis, MO that weaves contemporary art into civic infrastructure.
