Hauft installs new exhibition at MASS MoCA
Amy Hauft, director of the College & Graduate School of Art and the Jane Reuter Hitzeman and Herbert F. Hitzeman, Jr. Professor of Art, has been busy installing 700,000:1 | Terra + Luna + Sol, a new exhibition commissioned by MASS MoCA. The works are intended to make visitors palpably aware of their relationship to the curve of the earth and our distance from the moon. Take a sneak peak in this video.
Dockins wins Missouri Chapter of the American Planning Association award
Graduate student Tiffany Dockins (MArch22/MUD22) has won the 2021 Outstanding Student Project Award from the Missouri Chapter of the American Planning Association for the Marquette Master Plan. As a 2020 CityStudioSTL Fellow, Dockins worked with PGAV Planners and the Dutchtown community to create the master plan.
Woodridge and Clark selected to install Michigan Monuments
Artists Harold Woodridge and David Alan Clark (both BFA81) have been selected by the Unified Civic Monuments Project to design and install four new monuments in Benton Harbor and St. Joseph, Michigan. One installation site in each city will feature a statue of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and a second element will represent the city’s history.
Irving and Schlaifer featured in Harp & Altar
Alumni Kahlil Robert Irving (MFA-VA17) and communications strategist Stephanie Ellis Schlaifer (BFA99/BA99) both have work in the in the new issue of Harp & Altar. The magazine features a suite of digital collages by Irving and a poem from Schlaifer’s new collection, Well Waiting Room.
Meredith Lehman, manager of education programs for the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum, has received an IDEA award from the Arts and Culture Accessibility Cooperative of MindsEye Radio. The annual awards recognize outstanding contributions to the inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility of the Greater St. Louis cultural landscape.
Samuels lecture at University of Arizona
The Infrastructural Opportunism, Infrastructural Urbanism, Infrastructural Optimism lecture by associate professor Linda C. Samuels Presented by the University of Arizona: College of Architecture, Planning & Landscape Architecture will be happening on January 31 at 7:30p CST via link.
Moon and Wells exhibition at Duane Reed Gallery
Exhibition by lecturer Andrea Moon and instructional technician Dryden Wells at Duane Reed Gallery will open on February 4, 5-8p CST (in person). The work will be on view through February 26.
