About the artist
Carolyn Brady studied first at Oklahoma State University, and then completed her BFA and MFA degrees at the University of Oklahoma. She moved to New York and began working for a fabric designer, eventually meeting several artists working in the Photo-Realist style.
Although she had been trained in abstract art, Brady began to experiment with her own version of Photo-Realism, which quickly developed into the realistic watercolor still life and floral works she continues to produce. She currently lives and works in Maryland. Brady’s work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the St. Louis Art Museum, and the Worcester Art Museum. Brady passed away in 2005.
