About the artist
Tom Butter earned his BFA at the Philadelphia College of Art in 1975, followed by his MFA at Washington University in St. Louis in 1977. He is currently an adjunct professor at Parsons School of Design.
Butter has received two grants from the National Endowment for the Arts as well as a NY Found Arts Grant. His work is included in the collections of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.
