About the artist
Jeffrey Sippel earned a BFA from the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire in 1976. He studied at the Tamarind Institute from 1977-79, where he became certified as a master printer. He completed his MFA at Arizona State University in 1980. Sippel taught at Druckhaus EA Quensen in Lamspringe, Germany, served as Master Printer of Ocean Works LEL in Newport Beach, California, and taught at Ohio State University before returning to Tamarind, where he served as Assistant Professor/Education Director for ten years. In 1998, Sippel came to the University of Missouri, St. Louis, where he is now teaching and establishing a new printmaking facility.
Sippel specializes in waterless lithography. His work is included in many renowned collections, including the Smithsonian Institution. His extensive list of exhibitions includes the 7th International Print Biennial in Varna, Bulgaria.
