David Humphrey

New York artist David Humphrey collaborated with Island Press in a one-day workshop in February 2019, producing 17 monotypes. The images began with manipulated photographic images taken by Humphrey on the streets on New York. These images were printed as archival inkjet layers. In characteristic fashion, he worked into these images using monotype - painting ink on a plate, integrating and layering the painted marks with the photographic image to create these one-of-a-kind prints.
